All food packaging
Two bills: H 2450 / S 1504 (companion bills) would ban intentionally added PFAS in food packaging by 2027 and all products by 2030. S 1588 is a separate, narrower bill targeting chemicals in food packaging.
Penalty structures not yet specified in the introduced bills.
Massachusetts's PFAS ban primarily covers manufacturer and distributor in the supply chain. Food service operators are not directly covered under this statute. Many businesses choose to request PFAS-free documentation from packaging suppliers.
